How Climatch works

Climatch helps you find the ideal European travel destination by matching your climate preferences against historical weather data from the ERA5 reanalysis dataset (1994–2025 averages). The database covers over 5,000 cities across 46 European countries.

Pick your travel dates and set your preferences for temperature, sunshine, precipitation, wind, humidity, sea temperature, daylight hours, freezing level, and cloud cover. Each criterion is weighted according to your priorities — set a preference to get results that match what matters most to you.

Climatch computes a climate match score for every city by comparing your preferences against 10-year daily averages for your selected travel period. Cities are ranked by overall match percentage, so the best-fitting destinations appear first.

Each result includes a detailed climograph showing monthly temperature, precipitation, and sunshine patterns, as well as nearby airport and beach distances, city population, and optional flight prices from your departure airports.
